Etsy will be the end of me.

I can't seem to separate myself from Etsy. I just love, Love, LOVE so many of the artists. Ugh. My pocketbook is going to revolt soon.

I love Kelly Rae Roberts collages. I recently purchased In Her Hands and Heart by Heart, both are birthday presents for my sisters. Uh, hoping they don't read this.

Today I purchased some chic date tags, scalloped journaling circles, 2008 calendar tags, lined journaling circles, happy birthday/party tags, and some doodled heart tags. I'm hoping once I get these puppies in my hand, I'll be inspired to scrap more.

I'm really digging dazeychic's prints as well, very simplistic and clean. Her Little Trio, Be Still, Bliss in Red, Tickled Pink, and Anything But. All very pretty.

I'm contemplating 2 Beige, One Grey Flower by Heavens Earth. I figure if it's still there in another day or two, it was meant to be mine. If not, I'll just kick myself later.

On a side note:
I'm finding myself drawn to dandelion clock images more and more often.

Gotta jet, work calls.

Hoping everyone has a relaxing weekend!

All sorts of crafty goodness

So lately I've I'm been getting the bug to be crafty again, whether it's paper crafting, crocheting, looming, or drawing/painting. Also been wanting to break out my camera more often. I take this as a very good sign. I normally only want to creatively express myself when things are "on track" or I'm happy. I can honestly say, I'm happy.

I'm planning on posting my completed projects. I would post all my work in progress but there isn't enough cyberspace for them.

I was crocheting with a friend yesterday and I hopped from project to project. I started off by attempting to get a little further along on a granite colored scarf I started looming about 1.5 years ago, my sister has been waiting patiently. I then switched to a black beanie on another loom. Then to a brown and blue (earth & sky) scarf I was crocheting. I was about to hop to my fourth project a pastel (Buttercream Ombre) colored purse project, but decided that I should really concentrate on one project at a time. I went back to the black beanie and finished it off. Yippee! Yes, the beanie is black, but I had to tweak the contrast so that the details would show in the photo. That's what I get for using my cameraphone.

I also made my aforementioned friend a gift. I had seen Catherine Swan's paper butterfly works quite a number of months ago, then Ali mentioned her on her blog. It reminded me how much I loved them. So I gave it a try, but with the Martha Stewart heart craft punch instead. I really like the way it turned out. I think he did as well.

I've also tried my hand at drawing. I suck. Enough said about that. lol I'm going to keep at it though. I figure I can't get any worse, right?

The "D" word sucks...

And no, it's not Donut. ;-)

I don't believe I've mentioned this to anyone outside of my immediate family and/or work, but I'm getting a divorce. Shocked?

Ed and I officially separated July 31, 2007. Yes, 6.5 months ago, and you all are barely hearing about it. It's not something that's easy for me slip into a conversation. "I went to the Getty Villa the other day, it was such a nice day, oh and by the way, I'm getting a divorce." Or "I got a new car in September and I'm getting a divorce." Yeah, no easy way to say it.

Most of the time I see people and the topic at hand is so light and cheery that I don't want to bring it down. Ok, that's a bit of a lie. It's just that I don't like talking about it much, because then I feel I have an obligation to go into why the divorce had to happen. How my relationship with my soon-to-be-ex became a platonic relationship. The financial hardships we faced made communication that much harder. And the stbe's stubbornness led down this path. And no, all the blame doesn't lay on him. **Or is it "all the blame doesn't lie on him"?

I don't want to get to much into it here, if you're curious, give me a call or send me an email.

For some reason, we see divorce as a signal of failure, despite the fact that each of us has a right, and an obligation, to rectify any other mistake we make in life.

I decided...

I'm going to make every attempt to update my blog on a frequent basis. Well more than just one post a year. :) Let me start off by sharing some recent, or not so recent photos.
